We’re a small campground, so it doesn’t take a great deal to fill us. These are the stretches where people who leave it late end up staying somewhere else.
Four hundred-odd boats come into Southport for the U.S. Open King Mackerel, and a hotel parking lot is no use to you when you’re towing.
We have gravel pads with two parking spots and room beside the rig. Call the office rather than booking online and we’ll put you somewhere you can get the trailer in and out at four in the morning without waking the whole row.
Quite a lot, and most of it is a short drive. The U.S. Open King Mackerel Tournament and the N.C. 4th of July Festival are both in Southport, about twenty minutes away. The N.C. Oyster Festival is at Ocean Isle Beach, about thirty-five minutes, and Festival by the Sea is at Holden Beach. Closer to home there are farmers markets four days a week across Brunswick County.
Late June into the Fourth of July, when the Southport festival runs nine days and draws forty to fifty thousand people twenty minutes from our gate. Then the first three weekends of October, with the king mackerel tournament, the Oyster Festival and Festival by the Sea inside four weeks. Early April too, if the Azalea Festival lands then.
Each event is stored as a rule rather than a date, so the page works out the next occurrence itself and nothing goes stale. The dates still belong to the organizers, so confirm with them before you plan a trip around one.
This page covers what is on around the region. For what happens on the property, the pool, gem and fossil mining, the trails, gaga ball and the rest, see things to do.
Groups book the cabins and sites for reunions and school trips regularly. Call the office on 910.845.5040 and we will talk it through.
